Top Knot How To

Who doesn't love a simple top knot?

This style saves my life on days I'm running late. Add a fun lip color and you are set.

Gather your hair in a very high pony tail

Evenly distribute the hair over the base of the pony tail

Lightly back comb the hair for added volume.. This also helps form the bun

Now begin to wrap the ends around the base, pinning as you go

Finish with a little hair spray and you're done!

It's a 10 || Pony Tails

Healthy hair is sexy hair. Everyone wants Victoria Secret bombshell hair, but come on ladies let's give that poor hair a break. Today we are going to give you a quick tutorial on making that every day pony tail... GLAM.

We are starting with day 3 dirty hair, it's important to give your hair a break from heat, even if you skipped washing.

Tie your hair back as you normally would. You can do a high or low pony tail.

Take a small section from your pony tail. I always take one of the shorter pieces. Wrap it around the base and secure the end with a few bobby pins.

If you feel like your curls are looking a little lifeless, try taking some hairspray and scrunching the curls for a little more texture.

This is a quick and easy way to pull together your look without damaging your hair. This style is so versatile, it could be worn for a day at work, a mom on the go, or date night.

To keep that hair healthy you also want to incorporate products that protect and condition. We are loving the line It's a 10. Their leave in conditioner hydrates, detangles, and protects while using heat to style. Use it on wet hair before blow drying.

To get silky smooth locks and grow your hair long, use a deep conditioner weekly. We love It's a 10 Miracle Hair Mask. We will leave the links below to these products.

Little Black Dress: Day to Night

Little Black Dress: Day to Night

You can never go wrong with a little black dress.

For a simple day look, try pairing your dress with a casual jean jacket. I found this one at AEO years and years ago.... but they still carry a variety of super cute ones.

I LOVE these platform heels I found at Forever 21. They currently have very similar styles available in store, and online.

To dress up my LBD for night I switched to a classic nude pump and a statement necklace

I LOVE... love sweaters. They are the perfect way to dress down a LBD. Paired with some simple, or fun flats;  this will create a great day time look!

A quick, and easy transition for a night time look is to add some bling, and your favorite high-heals.

We had way to much fun dressing up, and being super girly tonight. Nothing says feminine more than a little black dress. We hope these looks gave you some inspiration, and motivation to dig out that little black dress!!! Show off ladies. You are gorgeous. XOXO

Favs From Clinique + Bonus Time

A little back ground on me.... (Evelyn)

I worked at Clinique for 7 beautiful years. I am so grateful for all they taught me, and they will forever have a place in my heart. During that time; I was able to practice on thousands of clients, with all sorts of skin tones, preferences, skin types, and so on guided by their excellent skin care teaching/ standards. It has been almost 3 years since I have been at a counter, but I still am in love with many of their products.

Today I will be sharing four of my favorites since they are giving a free gift with purchase. Yes FREE. Check it out I love it!!

My first product to share is Moisture Surge. This product has saved my face many of times. I deal with acne. No fun. So throughout trying numerous acne creams, and washes my skin can become dry, tight, and flakey. So I enter a dilemma. I need lots of moisture, but also need it to be a oil free. This product goes beyond my expectations. It is a light weight cream/gel that plumps the skin full of moisture for 24 hours. There is nothing that I have found that I love better. It is also good for all skin types.

The next is a recent love affair. These new lipsticks are to die for. Creamy, luxurious, HIGHLY pigmented, long lasting color, and the best part is they have a built in smoothing primer. Oh did I mention 16 glorious shades too choose from!!! Want too buy me a few? 😉

Let's talk about the Anti Gravity Eye Cream. We all need some sort of eye cream, no matter your age, or skin type. See the eye area has no oil glands. Without a proper eye cream, you develop early signs of aging, and cakey looking concealer under the eyes. I have loved Anti Gravity for now nine years. Yes I have ventured out and tried others, but I keep on coming back. Why? Because it is firming, lifting, brightening, and very moisturizing. When I worked at Clinique there was not one client that I put that cream on that did not buy it. It is one of those products that you get instant gratification. Us ladies are all about that.

Last, but not least their eye liners. They are creamy, smooth, deliver an amazing long-lasting, and smudge proof color. There are a few difference types of liners that they carry, but my favorite are the Intense liners. Beautiful colors. My go to's are the Intense Ivy, and Intense Chocolate.

I hope a few of these strike your eye so you can snag up that amazing gift! The gift runs through April 14th, and is available only at Macy's. If you have any questions, or curious about any of the other products comment below. I am happy to answer!!!

Kylie lips & NYX

Today I created a quick, and simple tutorial inspired by Kylie Jenners lips...

Because they are just amazing.....

She uses lots of nudes with pink, and purple undertones. She also over lines her lips with a darker lip liner to create a super full look.

First I start out by exfoliating my lips, and making sure they are moisturized. Nothing looks worse than a matte lipstick on dry lips.

Next take a concealer that is a close shade to your foundation, and cover your enter lip, as well as a little outside your lip line. This will allow you too outline your lips a little outside your lip line without it looking funny. It will also cancel out your lip color for a clean slate. Kylie definitely draws outside the natural lip line for that fuller look.

Now we are ready for lip liner. Outline your lips all the way, and just a little outside your natural lip line. Today I used NYX lip liner in Mauve. I love these. I think I may have an addiction....

Now we are ready for that lipstick !!! You can apply it with a lip brush or the lipstick directly. I usually apply two coats, letting the first to dry before the second. I LOVE the lipstick from NYX in Matte Whipped Caviar, and think it is a pretty close match. So creamy, smooth, and delivers a very pigmented color.

There we go!!!! As you can see I did matte shadows, and winged liner to go along with this Kylie Jenner inspired look. Best part is the lip liner is $3.99, and the lipstick is $5.99!!!! Let me know your thoughts, and if you want a tutorial on the eyes leave a comment below!!!!

How to Round Brush Your Hair

Love how your hair looks after you leave the salon but can't quite get it to look the same at home?

All you need is your blow drier, a round brush, a hair clip, and a little product!

Start with freshly washed, towel dried hair.

When I blow out my hair I love to use It's a 10 Silk Express Miracle Silk Smoothing Balm

buy it here http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/productDetail.jsp?productId=xlsImpprod6481258

I applied two pumps for my amount of hair. After applying, comb through to distribute evenly.

Dry your hair until it's almost all the way dry and you can just feel a little moisture left in it. This cuts down on time and cuts down on the amount of times you are putting the round brush through your hair. You just want to use the brush to smooth and add volume.

I always start with the front section of my hair since it's the most important! Lift the hair and hook the round brush in at the base. You'll want to have lots of tension for maximum volume.

As you get to the ends of your hair begin to turn the round brush under, grabbing the ends and rolling it up into the brush. Hold the heat for a few seconds. You will have to do this process multiple times on each section.

Lots of volume already!

Now you are going to clip up the majority of your hair and left the section at the bottom out. Rule of thumb: don't take sections bigger than your round brush.

For my amount of hair I am able to do this bottom section in just two sub sections.

Now let down your next section

When drying the hair around my face I hold the brush vertically to get a slight curl away from my face

Continue this process working around your head and letting down sections.

As you get closer to the top elevate you brush upwards for more volume.

At the crown, you can over direct your brush forward for extra lift.

Another trick is to hold the heat for a few seconds on the brush and then let it cool while it's still wrapped up in the brush. Letting it cool creates memory and will keep your hair from going flat!

Love all this volume! And no, even as a hair stylist I don't do this do my hair every day! But it sure is nice to know how when I have a special reason to! I hope this helped you girls!

We are working on a video set up so that we can get even more hands on and you can follow along better!
